Legal
Terms of Service
Last updated: February 14, 2025_
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and Strapping AI, Inc. ("Strapping," "we," "our," or "us"). They govern your access to and use of:
- our websites, including strapping.ai, api.strapping.ai, and related domains or subdomains (the "Site"); and
- our products, services, software, APIs, mobile applications, and related tools, including our AI-assisted mobile app development environment and infrastructure (collectively, the "Services").
By accessing or using the Services, clicking "I agree," or creating an account, you (i) acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms, (ii) agree to be bound by them, and (iii) agree to our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that organization, in which case "you" and "your" refer to that organization. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Services.
1. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice by, for example, posting the updated Terms on the Site, updating the "Last updated" date above, and/or sending you an email or in-product notification. Your continued use of the Services after the updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Services.
2. Definitions
- Account: A registered user account for the Services, typically authenticated via a third-party identity provider such as GitHub through Auth0.
- AI Models: Strapping's own AI systems (if any) and third-party large language models or other machine learning models that we integrate or route your requests to, including through our internal proxy.
- AI Output: Any content, code, text, or other output generated by or via the Services using AI Models in response to prompts or inputs you provide.
- Customer Content: Any code, text, images, data, prompts, configurations, or other content that you or your users submit, upload, store, process, or generate in or through the Services, including projects and repositories built using the Services.
- Hosted Workspace or Project Workspace: The per-project environment and associated infrastructure that runs your mobile application or other project code within our Kubernetes worker pods and associated components.
- Strapping Materials: The Services, the Site, our software, architecture, documentation, templates, prebuilt components, example projects, designs, and any other technology or content we provide, including all enhancements and derivatives.
- Third-Party Services: Products, services, or content provided by third parties that we integrate or interoperate with, including GitHub, Auth0, OpenAI, other AI providers, cloud infrastructure providers, Supabase, and in some cases Gitea or other internal tools.
3. Eligibility
You may use the Services only if you are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract, or if you are using the Services on behalf of an organization and have authority to bind that organization. The Services are not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such data, contact privacy@strapping.ai so we can delete it.
4. Account Registration and Security
4.1 Registration
To use certain features of the Services, you must create an Account. Strapping currently uses third-party identity providers (for example, GitHub via Auth0) for authentication and may issue its own session or access tokens for subsequent API calls. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating and maintaining your Account.
4.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and access tokens, restricting access to your devices and Account, and all activities that occur under your Account. You must promptly notify us at support@strapping.ai if you suspect unauthorized access or use of your Account or credentials. We may disable or terminate Accounts at our discretion, including where we suspect a violation of these Terms or a security risk.
5. Description of the Services
Strapping provides a web IDE and infrastructure for building mobile applications, primarily React Native / Expo projects, using AI-assisted workflows. At a high level, the Services may include:
- a browser-based developer environment to create and edit projects;
- per-project worker pods running your Expo dev server and project code within a Kubernetes cluster;
- integration with GitHub and internal git repositories (e.g., Gitea) to seed templates and export projects;
- AI-assisted code generation and editing, mediated through an OpenAI-style proxy;
- APIs to manage projects, triggers, and previews; and
- optional mobile client(s) that connect to your project's dev server and Strapping APIs.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time.
6. License to Use the Services
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and any plan-specific limits, Strapping grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services solely for your own internal business purposes or personal use, and to use the Strapping Materials provided within the Services for that same purpose. You may not sublicense, resell, or otherwise commercially exploit the Services except as expressly permitted in a separate written agreement with us. We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.
7. Your Content and Projects
7.1 Ownership of Customer Content & AI Output
As between you and Strapping, you own Customer Content, including the projects and code you create using the Services. You also own AI Output generated for you, to the extent permitted by applicable law and subject to any third-party rights in underlying models or training data. You are solely responsible for the content of your projects and repositories, ensuring that your Customer Content and use of AI Output do not infringe, violate, or misappropriate any third-party rights, and obtaining all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to use your Customer Content with the Services.
7.2 License Grant to Strapping
To provide and improve the Services, you grant Strapping a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, and create derivative works of your Customer Content solely for: operating, maintaining, and securing the Services; running per-project worker pods, dev servers, and preview builds; performing backups, logging, monitoring, and diagnostics; integrating with GitHub or other version control systems for export and sync flows; and providing support, troubleshooting, and quality-of-service improvements. If we wish to use Customer Content beyond these operational purposes (for example, to train generic models or build analytics products), we will do so only as described in our Privacy Policy and/or a separate agreement with you, and as allowed by applicable law.
7.3 Deletion and Retention
You may delete certain Customer Content via the Services. However, residual copies may remain in backups or logs for a limited time; we may retain information as required by law, for security or fraud prevention, or to enforce our rights; and we may retain and use aggregated or de-identified data derived from Customer Content and usage patterns indefinitely, provided it does not identify you or your users.
8. AI-Specific Terms and Disclaimers
The Services rely heavily on AI Models, including third-party large language models.
8.1 No Guarantee of Accuracy
AI Output may contain errors, omissions, or insecure patterns; reflect outdated or biased information; fail to comply with applicable laws or third-party licenses; or generate code that does not build, run, or behave as expected. You must treat AI Output as suggestions only. You are solely responsible for reviewing, testing, auditing, and validating AI Output before using it in production or relying on it.
8.2 High-Risk Uses
You must not use the Services or AI Output as the sole basis for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice; safety-critical systems (e.g., medical devices, emergency systems, aviation or automotive control); or applications where failure could result in death, personal injury, or significant property or environmental damage. If you choose to use the Services in higher-risk contexts, you must implement appropriate safeguards, testing, and human review. Strapping disclaims all liability for such uses.
8.3 Non-Uniqueness and Similarity
AI Output may be similar or identical to content generated for other users in response to similar prompts. We do not promise that AI Output will be unique or free from third-party rights.
9. Third-Party Services and Providers
The Services rely on and interoperate with Third-Party Services, including but not limited to identity/auth providers (e.g., Auth0, GitHub), AI providers (e.g., OpenAI and other large language model providers accessed through our internal proxy), cloud and hosting providers (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes, storage, and networking providers), database and backend services (e.g., Postgres, Supabase or similar), and git hosting (e.g., your GitHub account and our internal Gitea instance). Your use of any Third-Party Service is subject to that provider's separate terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for Third-Party Services and do not control their availability, performance, or security. We may switch providers, add new providers, or remove providers from time to time.
10. Security and Technical Architecture (Informational)
Strapping uses a multi-component architecture designed to provide isolation between projects and protect your data, including:
- Auth & Session: Authentication via Auth0 (with GitHub connection) and session tokens issued by our backend, used on subsequent API calls.
- Per-Project Workers: Each project runs in a dedicated worker environment (Kubernetes deployment/service) with project-specific environment variables and tokens.
- Segregated Infrastructure: Worker pods are scheduled on worker node groups, while core services (control plane, proxy, internal git) run on separate node groups.
- Network Boundaries: Only the control plane is exposed to the public internet via load balancer ingress; worker pods and internal services are accessible only through internal Kubernetes networking.
- Secrets Management: Production secrets are stored and managed using cloud secrets management services and injected into runtime only as needed.
While we design our infrastructure with security in mind, no system is perfectly secure. You acknowledge that you share responsibility for security (for example, keeping credentials safe, restricting access, and reviewing AI-generated code) and that we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, data loss, or breaches will never occur. Additional details about security practices may be described in our security or trust documentation, which are informational and not contractual unless expressly stated.
11. Acceptable Use
You agree that you will not (and will not permit any third party to):
- copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of the Services or Strapping Materials except as expressly allowed by these Terms or by applicable open-source licenses;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code of any non-open-source component of the Services (except to the extent such a restriction is prohibited by applicable law);
- bypass or interfere with security or access controls, metering, or limits we put in place;
- use automated means (e.g., bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Services in a way that burdens our infrastructure or bypasses intended interfaces;
- upload, submit, or generate any content that is illegal, harmful, fraudulent, defamatory, harassing, or otherwise objectionable, or that infringes third-party rights;
- use the Services to create or distribute malware, exploits, or other malicious code;
- misrepresent AI Output as human-generated where doing so could cause harm or deception;
- use the Services in violation of any applicable law, regulation, or export control;
- use the Services, AI Output, or prompts to train or improve competing AI models without our prior written consent; or
- attempt to extract or reconstruct underlying model weights, training data, or system logic of AI Models we use.
We may publish additional acceptable use or platform rules from time to time. Those rules are incorporated into these Terms by reference. If there is a conflict between the rules and these Terms, these Terms control unless we expressly state otherwise.
12. Plans, Fees, and Payments
12.1 Plans and Pricing
Certain features of the Services are free, and others require a paid subscription or usage-based payment. Details of current plans, limits, and pricing are described on the Site or in an order form or other agreement between you and Strapping. We may change prices and plan features over time. If you are on a recurring subscription, we will provide reasonable notice of material price changes that apply to future billing periods.
12.2 Billing
If you purchase a paid plan, you authorize us (or our payment processor) to charge the payment method you provide for all applicable fees, taxes, and charges. Subscriptions are typically billed in advance (monthly or annually) and auto-renew until cancelled. You must keep your payment information accurate and current. If a payment is declined or cannot be processed, we may suspend or downgrade your access to the Services and/or attempt to re-process the payment.
12.3 Usage-Based Fees or Credits
Some features may be billed based on usage (for example, AI calls, build minutes, or other metered usage). We may charge you directly based on recorded usage and/or offer a credit-based system where you purchase usage credits that are consumed as you use specific features. Details of how usage is metered, how credits are purchased, and how/when they expire will be described in the Site, dashboard, or ordering documents. Our metering and billing records are authoritative absent clear error.
12.4 Taxes
Fees are exclusive of any taxes (such as sales tax, VAT, or similar). You are responsible for paying any applicable taxes, excluding taxes based on our income.
12.5 No Refunds
Except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise in writing, all fees are non-refundable (including for partially used periods) and credits (if any) are non-refundable and have no cash value.
13. Suspension and Termination
13.1 Your Right to Cancel
You may cancel your paid subscription at any time via your Account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future recurring charges after the end of the current billing period and does not entitle you to a refund of already-paid fees, unless required by law. Your Account may remain active in a free or limited mode after cancellation, subject to these Terms.
13.2 Our Right to Suspend or Terminate
We may suspend or terminate your Account or access to the Services, in whole or in part, if you materially or repeatedly breach these Terms, we suspect fraud, abuse, or security issues, required by law or a court order, or we choose to discontinue all or part of the Services. We will use reasonable efforts to provide notice where practicable, but we may suspend or terminate immediately in urgent situations (e.g., security incidents or abuse).
13.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination of your Account or access, your right to use the Services ceases immediately; we may delete or disable access to your Hosted Workspaces and associated resources; we are not obligated to retain your Customer Content beyond what is required by law or internal policies; and sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive (including ownership, limitations of liability, disclaimers, indemnity, and dispute resolution) will continue to apply.
14. Intellectual Property
14.1 Strapping IP
Strapping and its licensors own all right, title, and interest in and to the Services and Strapping Materials, all software, infrastructure, and technology underlying the Services, and all modifications, enhancements, and derivative works thereof. Except for the limited license granted in Section 6, you have no rights in or to the Strapping IP.
14.2 Feedback
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Services ("Feedback"), you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use and exploit that Feedback for any purpose, without obligation or compensation to you. We have no obligation to implement any Feedback.
15. DMCA and Copyright Complaints
We respect intellectual property rights and comply with applicable copyright laws, including the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) in the United States. If you believe that content available through the Services infringes your copyright, you may submit a notice to our designated agent including:
- identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed;
- identification of the allegedly infringing material and information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it;
- your contact information (name, address, phone, and email);
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf; and
- your physical or electronic signature.

- Cap on Direct Damages. Strapping's total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms will not exceed the amounts you paid to Strapping for the Services in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim (or, if you have not paid any amounts, one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100)).
- Basis of the Bargain. You acknowledge that the limitations in this Section are an essential part of the bargain between you and Strapping.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Strapping and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Services or AI Output; your Customer Content; your violation of these Terms or any applicable law; or your infringement or misappropriation of any third-party rights. 19. Publicity
If you are a business entity, you grant Strapping a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use your name, logo, and brand to identify you as a customer of the Services on our Site, in customer lists, pitch materials, investor presentations, and other marketing collateral. You may revoke this permission by providing written notice to legal@strapping.ai. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to remove your marks from new materials going forward but are not required to recall or destroy existing materials.

You must comply with all applicable export control and sanctions laws in your use of the Services.
21. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms will be governed by and construed under the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law rules. You and Strapping agree that the state and federal courts located in Delaware, USA will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Waiver of Class Actions and Jury Trial. To the maximum extent permitted by law, all disputes must be brought solely on an individual basis, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, or representative action; and you and Strapping waive any right to a jury trial in any proceeding arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services. If any part of this Section is found unenforceable, the unenforceable part will be severed, and the remainder will remain in effect.
